πŸ—ƒοΈSelecting a Hosting Service

This guide teaches users who are very new to Minecraft servers how to select a hosting service to host your servers.

Identifying number of servers and specs required.

The number of servers and hardware needed vary from person to person and depends on the specific addons purchased by each individual.

Here's the table defining the specs and number of servers you need

Bedwars, Skywars, TntRun, BuildBattle, Duels, TheBridge + Main Lobby

4 Gb

2.5 Gb

Factions Addon

2.5 Gb

Minecraft 1.20+ servers require a lot of resources to run properly with all our servers' plugins. So, for survival and skyblock servers, we recommend at least 4-10 GB RAM for 5-10 players. And don't use Budget hosting.

Now you have 3 options to select from:

1. Buy individual servers (Convenient for those with fewer addons or no addons)

For Example:

  1. If you buy only the default Oak Network with no addons, you only need 4Gb ram in 1 server. This is most convenient for those without any addons.

  2. If you buy Oak Network along with Prison addon, you need 1 server with 4Gb RAM for default, 1 server with 2.5Gb RAM for prison and 1 server with 0.5Gb RAM for proxy. So, you require a total of 3 separate servers with 4Gb, 2.5Gb and 0.5Gb RAM. Proxy will automatically add up if you buy any addons

  3. If you buy all 4 gamemode addons, you need a total of 6 separate servers with a total of 16 GB RAM. (Ram and server distribution according to the chart)

2. Buy 1 server with total RAM (If the hosting provides an option to server split)

If the hosting you are going to use provides the option to server split, then this is very convenient.

Calculate the total RAM required by you from the upper chart and buy 1 server with the total RAM. Afterwards, you just split that 1 server into the number of required servers according to the chart.

For Example:

If you buy Oak Network along with Prison addon, you can just buy 1 server with 7Gb RAM. Then you can just split it into 3 servers i.e. 1 server with 4Gb RAM for default, 1 server with 2.5Gb RAM for prison and 1 server with 0.5Gb RAM for proxy.

3. Buy 1 VPS with total ram

You can just buy 1 VPS with total ram according to the chart. VPS stands for Virtual Private Server.

If you don't want to setup the server on your PC due to privacy reasons, then this can be the best option. You can just get a Windows VPS and run the servers on it. This is very easy and explained in detail in Installing Setup On Pc Section.

Or you can get a Linux VPS and install a pterodactyl panel on it which gives you a professional Minecraft hosting interface and functions. This is a more professional way. (If you buy our installationn addon, installing pterodactyl will be our responsibility)
