This can't be answered in terms of yes or no, let me explain. Running a profitable Minecraft server is highly situational. If you are an influencer or have an established fan base, a Minecraft server can indeed become very profitable. With an engaged player base, you can monetize through the sale of in-game ranks and more.
However, for most people, the path to profitability is much harder and more complex. You would need to invest significantly in advertising to attract players, which is difficult given the highly competitive market with not hundreds but thousands of servers. The initial costs of setting up the server, combined with the ongoing expenses of hosting services, can quickly add up. Furthermore, without a solid player base, even after substantial investments in advertising and marketing, there is a real risk that the server may not gain enough traction. Even with 10 gamemodes, players don't tend to stay on the server, meaning just buying Oak Network will never guarantee you a player base. Ultimately, if you fail to attract players, your expenses outweigh the potential profits, leading to a situation where most servers eventually have to shut down.
In short, while it is possible to run a profitable Minecraft server, it requires either an existing audience or significant financial investment and marketing efforts, with no guarantees of success.
I want to be fully transparent with you, even if it means some people might decide not to buy. I believe clear expectations are always better than regrets later on, so here’s my honest perspective.
If you’re thinking about purchasing Oak Network, the first thing I’d suggest is reading our other FAQ: “Is it Profitable to Run Oak Network?” Running a Minecraft server isn’t always as easy or profitable as it looks, and there’s no “instant success” formula, no matter how polished the setup is.
Now with that said: if you’re planning to create a server for small to mid-sized communities, friend groups, or casual players, Oak Network is built to give you a clean, well-structured experience. The server is carefully designed, highly organized, and everything feels well connected so even a small server can have a professional vibe without you having to spend weeks learning server setups.
The real strength of Oak Network lies in the base package plus the Survival/Skyblock Addon, which offers a ton of value for just $30. You get several essential game modes, including Survival and Skyblock — and for many people, that’s more than enough to enjoy a great server experience, especially if your goal is to have fun with friends or run a small community.
However, once you start expanding toward more advanced modes like Prison or Factions, the total price can rise to around $45. This is still fair for the content you're getting, as I've seen a lot of creators selling just their survival server for 30 - 50$, but from my viewpoint the “value for money” naturally feels a bit lower compared to the base package.
The real cost jump happens when you include the optional Setup Addons (installation and webstore services), which add another $35 to the total — bringing it up to about $85. I understand that this can feel expensive. The reason behind this is simple: both I and my partner handle this as a side hustle and time is something we have to protect. So the setup addons are priced to reflect the time we’d need to invest BUT they are not essential for everyone.
In fact, we’ve created a detailed Wiki to help you set up the server on your own, even if you’ve never hosted a server before. The goal was to make sure you don’t need to pay extra unless your time is worth more than the cost of the addon. If you do hit a roadblock, we’re still available to help — even if you didn’t buy the extra setup service.
One thing I would personally ask: please test the server before you buy. It can be disheartening to see people buy Oak Network, only to shut it down after a month because it wasn’t what they expected. That’s why we offer a test server so you can experience the setup fully and make sure it fits your needs. I’d honestly suggest spending a week, or even a month, testing before deciding to purchase.
To conclude: Oak Network offers great value for people who want an easy-to-run, clean and reliable server especially for smaller communities or friend groups. If you're looking for something more advanced or commercial, make sure to carefully test and review whether the setup fits your long-term goals.

Your server is running wrong minecraft and java versions. Make sure to set the Minecraft versions and Java versions according to this chart.
Minigame servers typically run on Minecraft version 1.8.8. Most popular servers, such as Hypixel and Pika Network, as well as other major minigame servers, use this version as their native base. Minigames are specifically designed for this version, ensuring optimal performance and mechanics. Additionally, running a server on 1.8.8 helps reduce resource consumption, making it more efficient.
However, players can still join from any Minecraft versions from 1.7 to 1.21.x (latest) through viaversion plugin.
Our Survival and Skyblock modes run on the same server. Currently, the Skyblock plugin we use does not support the latest Minecraft versions. However, as soon as an update is released, we’ll upgrade it to ensure compatibility with the latest version.
